Rainstorm Weather ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the Rainstorm Weather website at rainstorm.name handles when you use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We have designed Rainstorm Weather to work with as little personal information as possible. We do not require you to create an account to view forecasts.

• Preferences. Your unit choice (metric or imperial), theme (light or dark) and most recently viewed city are stored locally in your browser using local storage. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
• Search queries. When you search for a city, the place name is sent to an open geocoding provider to find matching locations.
• Location coordinates. If you choose "Use my location", your browser shares your approximate coordinates with the page to retrieve a local forecast. We do not store these coordinates on our servers.
• Contact messages. If you contact us, we receive the details you provide so we can respond.

How forecasts are retrieved

Forecast and location data are requested from open meteorological and geocoding services. When your browser makes those requests, standard technical information such as your IP address may be visible to those providers as part of normal internet operation. Please refer to the relevant provider's policy for details on their handling of such data.

Cookies and tracking

Rainstorm Weather does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. The only data persisted is the small set of preferences described above, stored locally on your device.

Your choices

• You can clear stored preferences at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
• You can decline the location prompt; the Service continues to work using city search.
• You can contact us to ask about any message you have sent.

Children's privacy

The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
